Cinfa Group unveils its new manufacturing plant to
strengthen its commitment
with accessible care
(NAVARRA) - The European pharmaceutical company
Cinfa, with a 55-year
history, has launched its
new manufacturing plant in
Spain, Neo. It was built
with advanced 4.0 technology
and a 44 million dollar
investment.
The new
manufacturing plant will
enable Cinfa to double its
annual production capacity
to provide patients
worldwide with quality
treatments, developed and
manufactured in Spain.
“These new facilities
are a reflection of our
commitment to ensure that
patients have access to the
quality medicines they
need,” said Enrique
Ordieres, President of Cinfa
Group.
The company,
which has invested 474
million dollars in R&D and
infrastructure over the past
decade, will initially
dedicate the new
manufacturing plant to the
production of 15 medications
for the treatment of highly
prevalent diseases such as
hypertension, which affects
approximately
33% of adults in the Middle
East and North Africa.
Industry 4.0 and
energy efficiency
The new Cinfa
building is based on the
concept of 'Industry 4.0' or
'smart factory.' This means
that all production systems
operate digitally,
integrate, and automate,
tailored to the needs of
each medication and its
manufacturing stages.
Additionally, the Group has
implemented a vertical
production system, enhancing
processes, increasing
manufacturing capacity, and
strengthening quality and
prevention standards.
The Neo plant has been
designed with maximum energy
efficiency in mind, aligning
with Cinfa's environmental
sustainability policy, which
focuses on optimal use of
natural resources and
effective waste management.
Thanks to this policy, Cinfa
Group has successfully
reduced its carbon footprint
intensity by 57% over the
past four years.
“Sustainability and caring
for our environment are
priorities, and all business
decisions incorporate
environmental
considerations” highlighted
Enrique Ordieres.
Among other measures, the
manufacturing plant features
thermal energy recovery
systems and a 1,900 m²
photovoltaic installation,
an expansion of the solar
park Cinfa launched in 2020,
which now spans 15,000
m²—equivalent to twelve
Olympic swimming pools.
2 million
donated to social causes
Cinfa has also donated
over 2 million euros to
support social initiatives
for the last 3 years,
reinforcing its commitment
to the
Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) outlined in
the 2030 Agenda, with a
particular focus on
improving healthcare access
for vulnerable communities.
