Eye and Ear Centers have opened their latest branch in Dubai today,
taking the total of Magrabi Eye and Ear locations in the GCC and
Egypt to 28.
“We are very proud to open the
Center here today, bringing with us our world class subspecialty eye
and ear care to Dubai,” said Mr Mutasim Alireza, Managing
Director, Magrabi Hospitals and Centers.
The Dubai Center is the second
Magrabi Eye and Ear Center in the UAE, the first having been opened
in Abu Dhabi in 1994.
“We opened these state-of-the-art
Centers with the objective of providing comprehensive eye and ear
care to the local and regional communities in the United Arab
Emirates,” added Mr Alireza.
“We found there was a growing need
for sub-specialty level ophthalmic care, refractive surgery, ENT
surgery, audiology and speech therapy services in the United Arab
Emirates,” said Mr Alireza.
“Our Hospitals & Centers are
the leading providers of Ophthalmic & ENT services in the Middle
East, with over fifty years of commitment to healthcare,” he said.
“This Center in Dubai is staffed by
highly qualified and experienced eye and ear doctors and surgeons
with US and/or UK qualifications, credentials and board
certifications,” added Mr Alireza.
Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospitals and
Centers have over 10 years experience in conducting various
Refractive Surgeries for vision correction, including LASIK which is
used for correcting eye sight using high precision lasers.
“Magrabi’s strength and high
success rates in performing refractive surgery is due to the
emphasis on patient selection, education, follow-up and assurance of
the highest standards of quality, not only to ensure continuity of
care, but also to provide the patient with valuable information
regarding the benefits and risks of various procedures and available
alternatives. The final decision remains the choice of the patient
and his family,” explained Dr John Steile, Refractive Surgery
Coordinator at the Magrabi Eye and Ear Center in Dubai.
Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospitals and
Centers also offer comprehensive cochlear implant programs for pre
lingual and post lingual patients.
“The Center in Abu Dhabi has
conducted around 17 cochlear implants in the UAE in the last year
alone. Cochlear implants are devices which enable people with severe
to profound hearing loss to be able to hear again. The cochlear
implant surgery is followed up with a rigorous program which
includes audiology sessions followed by speech therapy,” said Dr
Amr Abdul Razek, Consultant ENT Surgeon.
“Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospitals and
Centers were the first in the world to offer Arabic as a language of
rehabilitation and the Centers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai offer
rehabilitation in Arabic, English as well as French,” said Dr
Abdul Razek.
